Hope Wall PTA Seeks Donations for Holiday Celebration (Revised)
Hope Wall School is seeking donations for its annual Holiday Celebration, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10.
Hope Wall is a public school that serves special needs students in both Districts 129 and 131. It has approximately 215 students, ages 3-21.
To raise money for school needs, the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) will sell raffle tickets for $1. Donated prizes so far are mp3 players, cookware, travel alarm clocks and gift cards from various businesses, according to Vivian Davis, PTA president.
Donations can be dropped off or mailed to the school at 449 W. New Indian Trail Court, Aurora. IL 60506. Or donors can arrange to have a donation picked up by the school by calling 630-301-5008. The funds raise will help with the rennovation of the Rocket Cafe, where students learn daily living skills. Some of those skills include cooking, washing dishes and setting tables. Students plan a meal, make a grocery list, go into the community and shop, then later prepare the meal. Also, students learn how to wash and sort laundry.
Some of the items needed for the renovation project are a modern stove and refrigerator, dishes, silverware, cookware, place mats, tablecloths, dish towels and gift cards for shopping.
