    West Aurora High School's proud tradition of excellence began in 1868 on the third floor of the Old Stone School. The first class of five students graduated in June 1870. From this modest beginning, WAHS has grown into a comprehensive high school of over 3000 students. Through the decades, WAHS has served the Aurora community by providing an outstanding high school experience for many generations of young adults. Currently, WAHS is recognized for the high quality of its academic, athletic, music, drama, and co-curricular programs. Recent graduates are now attending outstanding colleges and universities across the United States. Athletic teams, music groups, other extra-curricular, and co-curricular organizations representing WAHS are often ranked among the best in the State.
