  Parent University Survey (Revised)

Greetings Parents and Guardians of our East and West Aurora students!

On Saturday, February 27, 2010 we will be hosting our first East/West Parent University.  A Parent University is a collection of classes/workshops that parents, guardians and family members can attend to learn more about specific topics of interest.

This year, the East/West Parent University will take place at East Aurora High School from 8:00-4:00.  Refreshments and child care will be provided throughout the day.

In order to best meet your needs, and design workshops/classes that will be most beneficial to you, we are asking you to complete a survey and to choose the topics that interest you most.

Kane Cancels Free Flu-Shot Clinics; Now Requires Appointments
The Kane County Health Department has canceled its scheduled Monday clinics due to the lack of vaccine. Because of the on-going nationwide vaccineshortage, the health department is not expecting to receive any shipments large enough in the foreseeable future to conduct the Community Clinics scheduled for Nov. 2 and Nov. 9.

In order to accommodate those who need the vaccine the most, the Health Department has established an appointment system for dispensing limited numbers of vaccinations. Kane County residents who fall into one of the priority groups can call the Appointment Line at  (630) 444-3189 to schedule appointments for H1N1 vaccinations:

·         pregnant women,

·         persons who live with or provide care for infants aged <6 months (e.g., parents, siblings, and daycare providers),

·         health-care and emergency medical services personnel

·         persons aged 6 months--24 years

·         persons aged 25--64 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.

Vaccinations will be given at Health Department's offices, 1330 N. Highland Ave. in Aurora and 113 Grove Ave. in Elgin clinic locations on Mondays and Thursdays. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We believe there will be adequate vaccine for all those in priority groups, but it will take time. We appreciate your patience.

Executive Director
