Meet the people who work in the Jewel Middle School Library Media Center!
Mrs. Hahn is a certified teacher and librarian. She grew up in Bowie, Maryland (near Washington, DC), though she has lived in the Chicagoland area since 1995. She attended Dominican University and received her Master of Library and Information Science degree in May 2003. Mrs. Hahn is always ready to help you find any information you need! Her specialities include research assistance, reference questions, reader's advisory (helping students select books for personal interest), Internet search engines, reference databases, information literacy instruction, and collaboration with teachers and administrators.
Mrs. Lechowicz is a highly-trained library paraprofessional. She worked as a LMC paraprofessional at Fearn Elementary School before joining the staff at Jewel Middle School. Mrs. Lechowicz is here to assist you with almost anything-- from locating a book on the shelf, checking out materials, and paying fines, to using the computers, printing out projects, and scanning pictures for your presentation!
LMC Helpers are students who have been selected by Mrs. Hahn and Mrs. Lechowicz to work in the LMC. Usually, student helpers have worked before school or during their lunch hours. LMC helpers assist us by checking out books, collecting fines, shelving books, helping students use the computers, cleaning the library areas, and running errands. We appreciate everything they do for us!
