Barb Vlasvich

Barbara Vlasvich grew up in Aurora and attended West Aurora Schools, graduating from West High in 1972. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Aurora University in 1976. Mrs. Vlasvich attended Northern Illinois University and earned her Masters of Science degree in Special Education in 1982. She continued coursework at Aurora University and received her administrative certification in 1999. Currently, Mrs. Vlasvich is in the Doctoral Studies Program in Leadership in Education at Aurora University.
Mrs. Vlasvich began teaching in West Aurora in 1977. She has taught 3rd through 6th grades with 18 years of her classroom teaching at Schneider School in North Aurora. In 1999, she served as Assistant Principal at Hall School and then moved to Lincoln School as Principal from 2000-2003. Mrs. Vlasvich was the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education and Teaching and Learning from 2003-2007. Currently, she is the Director of the Aurora University Partnership Program and the Director of Title I Services and Reading First Programs for the district.
Mrs. Vlasvich lives with her husband, Nick. Their two sons are in college, Chris who is at Illinois State University, Steve who is at the University of Iowa. Besides enjoying time with her husband and sons, Mrs. Vlasvich also spends time in her gardens, bike riding, and crocheting afghans.
