FOUNDATION YARD-SIGN CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE
READING
The Read With Me Foundation is launching a new campaign to promote
adults reading with children on a daily basis. The yard sign campaign –
a coordinated display of signs encouraging the community to read every
day with a child – is scheduled to coincide with American Education Week
and Children’s Book Week, Nov. 13-19.
Anyone interested in displaying a Read With Me Foundation yard sign that
week should contact the foundation at 630-301-5022.
Signs also will be available for pickup in the Dist. 129 schools during
parent-teacher conferences, Nov. 7-10. While it is not necessary to pay
for a sign, any contribution to the foundation will help offset costs.
“We are asking that participants keep the signs for additional
coordinated displays in the future,” says Judy Cheatham, executive
director of the Read With Me Foundation. “Think of all the encouragement
one little sign in your neighborhood can create!”
