BREAKFAST WITH SANTA TO PROVIDE FOOD, FUN,
GAMES, GIFTS
Breakfast with Santa, a community tradition for the past 17 years, will
be held from 8:30 a.m.-11a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3 in the West Aurora High
School cafeteria, 1201 W. New York Street.
Tickets are $6 and will be available at the door. Guests can enter the
gymnasium door 16 or at the cafeteria door 22 in front of the school.
Santa’s elves will serve a breakfast of pancakes, sausages, cereal,
muffins and beverages. Children will be able to play games, make craft
projects, have their faces painted, listen to Christmas stories, and
give Santa their Christmas wish lists.
Each child will receive a special gift from Santa and children can get a
framed picture of themselves with Santa for an extra cost. In addition,
a Holiday Gift Shoppe will feature gifts for home and friends.
Breakfast With Santa is also an opportunity to teach children about
helping others. Families interested in supporting Mutual Ground, a
shelter for battered women and children, can make a donation of
requested supplies such as phone cards, personal care products,
detergent, baby diapers and wipes, gift certificates to local grocery
stores or cash. Children and/or families making donations will be
entered into a special raffle and will be given coupons for additional
activities at the event.
Breakfast with Santa is a West High student-directed entrepreneurial
activity. Members of DECA, an association of marketing students;
assisted by members of FCCLA, comprised of family and consumer science
students; BPA, Business Professionals of America, a business student
organization; and the Hospitality Academy have joined forces to plan and
organize this event.
For more information on the event, contact Pat Larkin, business
education teacher and DECA advisor, 630-301-5618.
