DIST. 129 BOARD RECOGNIZES HILL SCHOOL PEACE PATROL STUDENTS

Hill Elementary School’s peace patrol, students who help their peers successfully follow the school’s Peaceful School initiative, were recognized on Jan. 17 at the school by the Dist. 129 School Board.

Each of the following students received a certificate of recognition for helping guide their fellow students: Bonnie Tlahueti, Ryan Lishman, Megan Lathan, Kayla Vicory, Yesenia Deltoro, Maribel Tecaxco, Josue Lopez, Cecilia Sarabia, Dakotah Jefferson, Laura Chavez, Wendy Ocampo, Paola Ocegueda, Rocio Villa, Yvette Magana, Khalea Neal, Tykia Neal, Claudia Morales, Matilde Arreguin, Omar Godinez, Sharlyne Meraz, Sofia Lopez and Kiersten Berggen.

With funding from an Aurora Foundation grant, the Peaceful Schools program teaches youngsters how to resolve conflicts by keeping feelings in check, reflecting, talking out problems and, if necessary, seeking help from an adult. Hill is one of three Dist. 129 schools using the program.
