FREEMAN TECH CLUB DRAWS SELF PORTRAITS ON
COMPUTERS
Third- through fifth-grade students from the after-school Freeman
Tech-Know Club, display their computer-generated self-portraits on April
10. Headed by teachers Betty Engen and Laurie Mitz, students also made a
Power Point lesson to help students better understand test-taking
instructional words; greeting cards in Publisher, slide shows in Power
Point and a vocabulary dictionary in Inspiration.
Myranda Risley, Freeman School third-grade student, admires a self
portrait she made in Kid Pix Deluxe 4, a skill she learned in the
popular after-school Freeman Tech-Know Club.
Hayden Sak, a Freeman third-grader, works on his computer-generated self
portrait during a session of the after-school Freeman Tech-Know Club.
Club members are instructed on how to format text and use drawing tools
to create pictures of themselves. Teachers believe the Tech-Know Club
students will become an asset to the school as they use their tech-savvy
skills to help other students.
