KID STORYTELLERS WOW THE CROWD

Fourth-grader Emily Krasinski tells the story, “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” to students in the Freeman School gym on March 22. Krasinski was one of more than 100 fourth-graders who spun tales throughout Freeman as part of the S.T.O.R.I.E.S. (Students Telling Oodles of Rollicking, Incredibly Entertaining Stories) Festival. Freeman fourth-graders who attend the Partnership School at Aurora University had learned the art of oral story-telling from a professional storyteller. This program was funded by the Foundation for West Aurora Schools, the Illinois Arts Council, the Boulevard District Neighbors and the Freeman PTA.
Fourth-grader Bob Ciavarella tells the story, “The Turkey and the Fat Mayor,”
during the Freeman stories festival on March 22.
Freeman kindergartener Janie Voris conveys her enthusiastic approval of her
older classmates’ stories during the Freeman stories festival on March 22.
