WEST HIGH SENIOR LIGHTS CANDLE AT NHS INDUCTION CEREMONY

West Aurora High School senior Clarissa Johnson lights a candle at the recent National Honor Society induction ceremony. Seventy-seven seniors and 67 juniors were inducted this year. The ceremony includes a candle-lighting component, during which the flame from the central candle (the lamp of knowledge) is used to light four candles, one for each of the four NHS core values -- scholarship, leadership, service and character.
