Students from Fearn, Freeman, Goodwin and Greenman elementary schools took home first-place finishes in Dist. 129’s 14th annual Math Bowl on April 10.

Over 200 eager problem-solvers from 11 elementary schools descended on West Aurora High School for the event.  Students took part in both individual and team events.  First- through third-place winners received awards.   

First- and second-place fourth-grade individual winners are Aron Bartoszch, Greenman and Tori Buby, Freeman. Eight students tied for third. They are Rolan Griffin, Hall; Rebecca Seidelman, McCleery; Oscar Gaytam, Greenman; Antwon Ahmed, Greenman; Jason Zak, Schneider; Fransheska Viejon, Schneider; Donnie Yelm, Fearn and William Spooner, Fearn.

Goodwin is the fourth-grade first-place team winner.  Fearn and McCleery tied for second. Hall and Freeman tied for third.

First- through third-place individual winners for fifth grade are Emily Krasinski, Freeman; Alfredo Gonzalez, Greenman and Matthew Carder, Smith.
First- through third-place team winners for fifth grade are Fearn, Goodwin and Hill.
