WEST HIGH BANDS, CHOIRS TO HOLD FOUR HOLIDAY CONCERTS

West Aurora High School bands and choirs will celebrate the season with four different concerts in December.

Madrigal Dinner
The first opportunity to hear holiday music is the 20th annual Madrigal Dinner Concert at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 in West High’s cafeteria.  Tickets are $19, presale only.  Guests will eat a delicious dinner of Rock Cornish game hen, rice dressing, green bean casserole, fresh vegetables, rolls, and spice cake doused in apple glaze.  Music, drama and magic fill the evening.  West’s Madrigal Singers are the main fare for the evening.  West’s Girls Chorus members fill the role of serving wenches who sing throughout the evening as they bring the meal to their guests.  For more information, call 630-301-5525.

Winter Concert
West High’s winter concert, “An Evening to Remember,” is at 7:30 pm., Thursday, Dec. 14 in the auditorium. Tickets are $2 and all seats are reserved. Holiday music ranging from Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” to Arvo Part’s “Bogoroditse Djevo” will be performed by the Wind Symphony, Varsity Singers, Girls Chorus, Treble Choir, Girls Glee, Mixed Ensemble, String Ensemble, STUDyhall, Ell’s Belles, Madrigal Singers and A Cappella Choir. Meg Papadolias and Jon McLear direct the choirs, and Steve Orland directs the Wind Symphony and String Ensemble. Tickets are available from students and in the main lobby of the high school. Some tickets may be available at the door the night of the concert. For more information, call 630-301-5525.
