West Aurora High School football fans can watch a live video webcast of the home game against Elgin at 7:10 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4.
The game will be shown on the school district Web site, www.sd129.org.
West High Broadcast Club students, supervised by teacher Steve Williams, will produce the webcast. They will be joined by Neal Ormond, the voice of the Blackhawks, who will call the game.
“This will be the Broadcast Club’s first webcast production,” says Mike Chapin, Dist. 129 Community Relations director. “The students will start simply and then progress to additional cameras and features in subsequent home games.”
To watch the webcast on a computer, one must have:
* An active connection to the Internet. For best performance, the connection speed should be 56bps minimum; DSL or higher is recommended for best performance, particularly for video;
*A Flash or Windows Media Player; and
*A functioning sound card and speakers.
