Welcome, Students and Parents !
I hope this web page gives you another way to find assignments and stay more connected. It is the students' responsibility to write assignments down in the assignment notebook. However, sometimes we forget! Sometimes Mom or Dad just want to make SURE that the correct assignments have been written down. Also, in the event you are ill, but still have a bit of energy to do homework, you can look up that day's homework and begin it, if you have your materials at home. Parents may also come to school and someone from the office can let you get needed books in the event of a longer absence.
Remember, our homework policy at Washington Middle School. When you are home sick, you have one day to turn in howework for each day of excused absence. For example, if you are absent on Tuesday and return on Thursday, you have been absent two days. On Thursday, you need to hand in Monday's homework. You have until the following Monday (2 more days) at the latest to hand in homework from the last Tuesday and Wed. PLEASE check with each teacher to make sure you understand what all your missed assignments are. It is your responsibility to get these in ON TIME...do not depend on the teachers to follow you around until they are handed in. :) If you have a planned absence, such as a a family vacation, ask me for your assignments ahead of time so that you can do them while you are gone. If you are suspended from school, it is your parents' responsibility to pick up your homework from school. Parents can call the school and ask teachers to put your homework together for you. You will be expected to hand in your completed work upon your return to school.
Students: Also note, I will do the best I can to post assignments, one week at a time. Sometimes assignments are modified during the week, so make sure to write these down in your asssignment notebook each period as they are assigned.
***To find homework assignments, please go to the "Homework" button at the very bottom of the blue links at the right side of the page.***
Parents, please feel free to contact me about any concern or question you have. I will do my best to get back to you within 24 hours. If you e-mail me, I can get back to you faster.
Here's to a great year!
