**Hey Seniors (and anyone else interested), there are about 20 more Muses books left! If you want a great keepsake from West, see your English teacher or Ms. Pauley in the English office. Books are $7.50.
Attention Freshmen: Lockers will be pre-assigned next year and you will have the opportunity to choose a partner. You and your partner must sign up together before school TODAY OR TOMORROW in the lower student cafeteria.
ATTENTION ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS – Thursday, May 17th there will be a summer informational meeting in B140. You can attend one of the two following times:
·7:00 am to 7:20 am
·3:00 pm to 3:20 pm
If you cannot attend either meeting, please contact coach Eimer for your summer information. This meeting is for all football players.
There will be an informational meeting for gentlemen interested in trying out for the Boys Golf team on Thursday, May 17th at 3:05 in room A220. Summer opportunities will be discussed.
West Aurora Girls - YES we have a swim team! If you are interested in joining the Girls Swimming and Diving Team this coming fall, please come to an informational meeting on Friday, May 18 at 3:15 in room A216. For more information or if you cannot attend, please see Mrs. Neukirch in the Social Studies Office (A217).
Our annual Varsity Sports Banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 29th, at 6:30 pm, in the Student Cafeteria. All VARSITY athletes, their parents, and the entire coaching staff are invited. Tickets are $10 per adult and may be purchased from Mrs. Ream in the Athletic Department. Varsity athletes are guests of the Blackhawk Sports Boosters and their dinners will be paid for by the Boosters. However, varsity athletes will need to pick up an admission ticket from Mrs. Ream in the Athletic Office. Deadline for tickets is Monday, May 21st.
SENIORS - You MUST take care of all overdue library books and late fees before graduation. Please check the lists posted in the library and by Mr. Slou's office to see whether you have anything due. Overdues and fines are NOT covered by fee waivers.
Attention Seniors!! Senior Celebration is May 18th in the Auditorium right after graduation practice. The celebration begins with renowned hypnotist, Dr. Jim Wand. Dr. Wand will be sure to entertain the crowd by hypnotizing students from your senior class; followed by a Yearbook BBQ, food for only $3, and the return of Afro-flow. Don't miss this chance to celebrate your final days here at West Aurora!
Yearbooks will be distributed to Seniors during the Senior Celebration on Friday. The yearbooks will be distributed to Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors after school on Friday, May 18 in the cafeteria. You must have a current id to pick up your own yearbook. If we have extras, you may purchase a yearbook for $37.00 cash next to the Wigwam before school on Monday, May 21.
Seniors: Applications for the JOHN W. BAUER MEMORIAL ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP and the JANIS LAPSA SCHOLASTIC ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIPS are now available online or in the Athletic Department. Links to the applications may be found on the athletic homepage in the far right column under "Other Links." Detailed criteria and instructions are listed on the applications. Deadline for submission is Friday, May 18th. Any questions, please see Mrs. Ream in the Athletic Department.
