West Aurora School District 129 Board of Education
In Illinois, public education is the state's constitutional responsibility. The state delegates to the local school board the authority to govern its district within the parameters set by law.
Voters in our district elect Board of Education members to serve four-year terms. The duties of the Board include, adopting financial information, approving all expenditures, establishing district policy, authorizing employment, setting school boundaries, approving textbooks, courses of study, and developing new, innovative, academic initiatives.
Regular Meetings of the Board are generally held on the first and third Mondays of each month. The regular session of the meetings will begin at 6:00 pm and will be held at the West Aurora District Administration Center, 1877 W. Downer Place, in the boardroom.
This meeting is open to the public in accordance with Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan. Face masks are required for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status. The capacity in any room will be based upon the ability to social distance.
