Welcome to the Transportation Department. We are proud to support our students and families by providing safe, reliable transportation to and from school, as well as for field trips and school activities. Student safety is at the center of all we do, and our vehicles and staff meet all federal and state safety and licensing standards. We encourage families to review the Student Handbook for important school bus safety expectations.

School Bus Route and Arrival Information

Beginning at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, families can access bus route details and timing information quickly and easily with the MyRide K-12 app and web version. With just a few taps, you can view your student’s route, stop location, and pickup time. The app provides the most complete experience, including real-time updates and notifications, while the web version allows families to view route and timing information. Families are welcome to download the app or visit the web version in advance; however, information will not be accurate until it goes live on August 7, 2026.

Please review the directions based on whether you are a new or returning user of MyRideK-12, and whether you plan to use the app or web version.

Need to Add Another Student?

To add a sibling or another student to your account, you may be asked to enter the student's ID number and date of birth for verification.

Enter your child's ID number and date of birth in YYYY-MM-DD format.

Example: If your child's birthdate is February 27, 2016, enter 2016-02-27.

Using the App with an Existing Account

Step 1: Download My Ride K-12 from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Step 3: Click Login and use your email address and password you previously used to access the web version.

Before you begin: Please have your active email address, your child’s ID number, and birthdate ready to access My Ride K-12 for bus route details. If you don’t know your child’s ID number, please contact our Admin Office at 630-301-5067.

Step 1: Download My Ride K-12 from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Step 2: Open the My Ride K-12 app after it finishes installing and when asked about notifications, select Allow so that you can receive real-time alerts.

Step 3: Tap Sign Up if this is your first time using the app.

Step 4: When prompted to use tylerapp.com to sign in, select Continue.

Step 5: Enter parent/guardian information, including your email, first name (Given Name), last name (Family Name), and create a password for the site. Then click Sign up.

Step 6: Confirm your account by following the email link sent to you, then click Continue.

Step 7: Sign in to your account using your email address and newly created password. Click Sign in.

Step 8: On the Select District screen, type West Aurora School District 129 in the search field. When it appears, highlight it and click Select.

Step 8: Tap Add Student to connect your child’s information to your account.

Step 9: Add your child's identifying information. This includes both student ID and date of birth in the YYYY-MM-DD format. Click Next both times.

Step 10: Your child's first name, last name, and grade should be displayed. If this is correct, click Add student.

Go to the MyRide K-12 website and click Sign up in the upper right corner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for school bus transportation?

The district will provide free transportation for all district students who reside: (1) a distance of one and ½ miles or more from their assigned schools, or (2) within one and ½ miles of the assigned schools, but for whom walking would constitute a serious hazard due to vehicular traffic as determined by I.D.O.T. standards and for whom adequate public transportation is not available. If a student is to be picked up at a location within the district other than his or her residence – due to permanent, daily child care arrangements – that location may be considered when determining the one and ½ miles from the school attended.

Do school buses have cameras, and how are they used?

School District 129 has installed video surveillance equipment in school buses as part of a multi-faceted approach to promote the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors and to help protect school property. The digital video cameras allow for both visual and audio recordings to be made on the interior of the school bus. All recordings are held confidential and can only be used by school officials and law enforcement. Cameras also help drivers stay focused on the road by reducing the need to check behind them while driving.
