Cheerleading & Poms Ms. Morgan Lanahan mlanahan@sd129.org 7-8 Cheerleading is an athletic sport offered at Herget Middle School. After a tryout process, the team is made up of 7th and 8th grade girls and boys. The team learns many sideline cheers, floor cheers, quarter cheer routines, and stunting. The Herget Cheerleaders cheer at all home 7th and 8th grade boys basketball games and compete in the City of Lights Cheerleading Competition.
Drama Nick Sargis jglogowski@sd129.org 6, 7 and 8th grade The Herget Drama Club is an all-inclusive group, where students will learn the fundamentals of theatre, while putting on high quality performances, including a fall play, and a spring musical. The artistic team and students at Herget Middle School, will together bring beloved classics to life on stage, and build the bonds of a strong and supportive community. See you at auditions!
IMSA Fusion Mrs. Andrews (Science) kandrews@sd129.org 6, 7, & 8 IMSA Fusion is an extra-curricular math and science enrichment program that meets once per week. Students apply to be a part of the program during August or September each year. This club is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Makers Club Mrs. Metallo lmetallo@sd129.org 6-8 Makers Club is an after school club that offers a fun opportunity to design and manufacture products and learn the art of running a successful business. Makers Club works closely with Business Club which handles marketing and sales of the products.

Middle School Choral Dr. Jeffrey Glogowski jglogowski@sd129.org 6,7,8 Early Morning Choir (EMC): Early Morning Choir is an extra-curricular singing group open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. This group meets/rehearses every Friday morning school is in session at 7:30AM-8:30. Overall, there are 4-5 night concerts/performances. Any Herget student can join. They only need to possess the desire to sing, have transportation to school, and have the proper performance attire. http://herget.discoverthought.com/
Speed Stacking Club: Mrs. Metallo lmetallo@sd129.org 6th, 7th & 8th graders This is a before school club to promote fun and friendly competition. We meet two Thursday mornings each month, from 7:35am-8:20am to learn cup stacking strategies, practice techniques, and compete against fellow cup stackers.
Student Council Mrs. Andrews eandrews@sd129.org 6,7,8 Student council is a place for students to develop leadership skills and participate in community service projects. This year members have organized a a school wide food drive for the North Aurora Mother's Club. Members also will make blankets for Project Linus. In the Spring, student council members will lead tours at Herget for incoming fifth graders.
Yearbook Mr. Patrick Skly pskly@sd129.org 6, 7, & 8 Yearbook is an after and during school club in which students brainstorm yearbook themes and take pictures. Students learn online designs and digital photography.
