    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Education of Aurora West School District No. 129, County of Kane, Illinois, that the tentative budgets for the 2017 – 2018 school year for the District and for the Hope D. Wall School are available for public inspection during normal business hours at the office of the Board of Education located at 1877 W. Downer Place, Aurora, Illinois.


    NOTICE IS FURTHER HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing on the 2017 – 2018 tentative budget will be held on September 18, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room in the District Administration Center, located at 1877 W. Downer Place, Aurora, Illinois.

    West Aurora School District 129 Board of Education

    In Illinois, public education is the state's constitutional responsibility. The state delegates to the local school board the authority to govern its district within the parameters set by law.

    Voters in our district elect Board of Education members to serve four-year terms. The duties of the Board include, adopting financial information, approving all expenditures, establishing district policy, authorizing employment, setting school boundaries, approving textbooks, courses of study, and developing new, innovative, academic initiatives.

    Regular meetings of the Board are generally held on the first and third Mondays of each month at West Aurora High School, 1201 West New York Street, Aurora, Illinois, 60506. Check the calendar on the website for updated information.

    Individuals wishing to address the Board on an agenda and/or non-agenda item are asked to complete a Public Comment Card, available at the meeting.. Please present the completed comment card to the board secretary, or designee, at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting.
